How can we help?
Open the app and tap any day on the calendar. Select "Period start" and Vela will begin tracking your cycle from that date. You can log additional days by tapping them and selecting the flow level.
Vela calculates your average cycle length from your logged history. After 2–3 cycles, predictions become more accurate. Everything is computed on your device — no data is sent anywhere.
Tap the Log tab (+ icon) on any day. You can record flow level, symptoms, pain level (0–10), mood, and free-text notes. The log auto-saves when you leave — no save button needed.
The fertile window is the estimated days around ovulation when pregnancy is most likely. It is calculated based on your average cycle length. Vela shows it as a green band on the calendar.
All your data — cycle dates, logs, symptoms — is stored in a local SQLite database on your phone only. Nothing is ever transmitted to a server. We have no server. We cannot see your data.
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → App lock. Toggle it on and choose between Face ID/Touch ID or a custom PIN. The app will lock immediately after you leave it.
Disguise mode changes the app's name and icon on your home screen to something neutral (e.g. "Notes"). Enable it in Settings → Privacy & Security → App disguise. The app still works identically.
Delete the app from your phone. Your data is stored only on device, so uninstalling the app removes everything permanently. There is no cloud copy and nothing to request from us.
Go to Settings → Notifications → Period reminder. Toggle it on and choose how many days before your predicted period you want to be notified. Reminders are generated locally on your device.
Check Settings → Notifications on your phone and make sure Vela has permission to send notifications. On Android, also check that battery optimisation is not preventing the app from running in the background.
Yes. Go to Settings → Notifications → Fertile window alert. Toggle it on. You can also set the time of day you want to receive the notification.
Go to Settings → Data → Export CSV. This creates a CSV file of all your cycle and log data that you can save, share, or open in a spreadsheet app. The file contains only your own data.
In v1.0, data is tied to your device. If iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google Backup (Android) includes Vela and you restore from backup, your data should transfer. We recommend exporting a CSV before switching phones as a safety net.
By default, Vela excludes its database from iCloud and Google Auto Backup to protect your privacy. You can change this in your phone's backup settings if you want data included in device backups.
Vela is £9.99 (or $9.99 USD) as a one-time purchase. You pay once and own it forever — no subscription, no recurring charges.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. On iOS: go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android: open the Play Store → Order history → Request a refund. We have no ability to process refunds directly.
Yes. On iOS, use the same Apple ID to restore your purchase — tap "Restore purchases" in Settings. On Android, the same Google account gives you access on any Android device you own.
